HISTORY
The Cheadle Hulme Flower Show was established in 1959 and the first Show was held in July 1960. This was a modest affair with Flowers, Vegetables and Cookery classes only. Held at the Parish Hall, Church Rd, Cheadle Hulme.
It was decided that September would be a more appropriate month and was always the 1st Saturday in September thereafter. Classes were soon added to include Fruit, Flowers, Vegetables, Cookery and Preserves. Eventually Photography and Childrens classes were also added.
The Show was held every year apart from during the Pandemic and the final Show was held in September 2023. The Committee responsible for it then decided that in view of the extremely hard work over a number of days, and the lack of entries from members, the Society would continue with a change of name to Cheadle Hulme Gardening Society with regular evening talks , coffee mornings, outside trips , open garden days, and the occasional short holiday.
A list of meetings & events will appear on the Programme page.
